Meet the DLCMy name is Kimberly Howard and this is my 16th year in education. I taught middle school math for eight years and media technology courses for three years. As a Digital Learning Coach, I strive to foster collaboration among teachers while building confidence and increasing capacity to integrate technology in the classroom. As a result, I hope to increase student achievement in the context of engaging, empowering, technology-rich classroom experiences.

After graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, I joined the Army. I spent most of my time stationed in San Antonio at the emergency room of Brooke Army Medical Center. I found a passion for teaching as I lead soldiers in their continuing education requirements. I taught skills classes as well as CPR and medical assistant courses. When I was approaching the end of my enlistment, I sought out alternative certification and a career in teaching math. Within my first few years of teaching, I earned my Masters of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix - Online. I hold teaching certificates in Math, Technology Applications, and Technology Education. While teaching middle school, I always sought ways to engage my students and technology was often the vehicle. I became a Digital Learning Coach in 2018 in order to broaden my reach and help more teachers to engage and empower students with technology-rich classroom experiences.
